IT IS OFFICIAL!   Sacred Heart of Jesus, Milford, Sacred Heart of Jesus, Hopedale, and St. Mary's of the Assumption Church, Milford have formed a "Cluster"...officially referred to as:  "CLUSTER 24."

As many of you are already aware, the "clustering" process was initiated by the Diocese several months ago. Cluster formation allows parishes to work collaboratively for the benefit of all.

The mission of the church, and therefore that of each cluster is: "To realize the Kingdom of God".  Therefore, every task which we undertake as a cluster needs to be considered in light of that mission.

Over the past few months, "Cluster 24", consisting of twelve members, four from each parish, has held four meetings.  We have developed a clustering relationship between our three parishes, discussed parish concerns, identified current areas of collaboration and potential areas of further collaboration. We are in the process of prioritizing some short-term activities which the cluster will undertake.  At the same time, the sharing of information, ideas, lessons learned and shared experiences have provided much needed support around mutual parish concerns.

Currently, collaborative efforts are taking place in areas such as the Tri-Parish Youth Group (J.A.M), the Hospital Ministry, the Food Pantry, Knights of Columbus, Confirmation and men’s retreats and Milford Catholic Elementary School.

We continue to work the implementation of the current areas of collaboration, and explore the potential of collaborative efforts in the other areas such as: Retreats (Women's, Men's, Family, Students, Marriages, Missions), Faith Formation, Conferences, Human Services and Census.. We are also pursuing the development of a Short-Term and Long-Term Plan and a "Cluster 24" Vision Statement.

To keep you, the parishioners, updated on the progress of the Cluster Team, we will be publishing a monthly newsletter entitled: CLUSTER CURRENT CHATTER, in the form of an insert in your parish bulletin. We, your Cluster Team, seek your prayers in asking the Holy Spirit to guide our work and our parishes as we continue through this clustering process "To realize the Kingdom of God".
